A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT.

The eligibility for admission is 45% in case of General Category and 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1 and OBC Category candidates. The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/technology courses).

Entrance Exam: KEA / COMEDK

Selection Criteria @MSRIT 

The admission in the B.E. courses at MS Ramaiah Institute is entrance exam-based. Candidates seeking admission must appear in the state-level entrance exam KCET. Non-Karnataka students can appear in the national level entrance exam COMEDK.

Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK). COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the current academic year. COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counselling (Single window system). The list of the Member Institutions who have indicated their participation in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, the difficulty standards of this exam are lower than JEE mains. To get admission in the top engineering colleges in Bangalore you can also give various other exams like BITSAT and VITEEE as well.

This entrance exam is conducted for the admission to undergraduate engineering courses at almost 190 colleges in Karnataka state. As per the COMEDK exam pattern issued there will be 1 mark given for each correct answer with no negative marking. This exam is conducted once a year. This exam is held for both the candidate’s seeking admission in B. Tech course and B. Arch course.

The COMEDK participating institutes have their own opening and closing ranks based on which the qualifying candidates are allotted seats.  Here are some general eligibility guidelines for the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at BMS College of Engineering:

Undergraduate Programs (B.E. /B.Tech.):

Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

They should have studied Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics as one of the optional subjects.

Minimum aggregate marks requirement may vary depending on the course and category (e.g., General, SC/ST, etc.).

Candidates need to qualify in the entrance examination accepted by the college, such as Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), COMEDK UGET, or any other accepted national-level entrance examination.
