Admission criteria

PESU admits 40% of its students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET ranks and 60% of its students based on PESSAT (the university’s own entrance test) ranks. PESU also admits students under a Management quota, which may not place any merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering. SindhuNetra (RSAT)

RSAT (officially named SindhuNetra) is a three-axis stabilized agile nano satellite weighing 10 kg (22 lb) and measuring 300 mm × 300 mm × 300 mm (12 in × 12 in × 12 in) in size with deployable solar panels generating 45 watts of solar power. It was placed into orbit by ISRO’s PSLV-C51 on 28 February 2021 with support from the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The RSAT carries a Satellite Based Automatic Identification System (SB-AIS) payload that will help monitor ships on high seas and provide information about their movement. It receives AIS signals transmitted by ships in VHF band, processes and transmits the information to a ground station.

PISAT

On 26 September 2016, PISAT was successfully placed into polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO) by India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its thirty-seventh flight (PSLV-C35). Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “I applaud the industrious and innovative students of PES University, Bengaluru, for creating the PISAT that was launched successfully today”. Electronics and Communication Engineering is concerned with the design, development, manufacture and application of electronic devices, circuits and systems. Electronics and Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of the art knowledge about Electronic Devices and Circuits, Computer Architecture and Microprocessors, VLSI and Embedded systems, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Analog and Digital Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave and Broadband Communications. RIT was founded, in 1962, by the late M. S. Ramaiah, who was an educationist, philanthropist, and infrastructure visionary. RIT is a part of Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) which owns and manages several educational institutions across various streams. The foundation also runs a Multi Specialty Hospital. RIT was the first institute started by the Gokula Education Foundation.

Administration

  1. R. Seetharam, a son of M. S. Ramaiah, currently heads the college management as a director. The autonomy given to the institute by the government is only for academic matters. The governing council of the college includes two principals of other colleges, one bureaucrat from state government of Karnataka, one bureaucrat from central government of India, and one member from the VTU. Department of Information Technology (IT) was established in the year 1999. The department offers an undergraduate program of B.Tech (Information Technology). The program has become autonomous since 2016.  Students’ intake capacity for the program is 60 every year. Information about the Department:

The E&TC Department of MKSSS’S Cummins College of Engineering for Women (CCOEW), Pune was established in 1991. Initially, it started functioning with 60 students. The student intake was increased to 120 in 1997. The department has also started the Post Graduation course of M.E (Signal Processing) since 2009 with an intake of 18 students. Second shift of UG with an intake of 60 students was added in 2010 thus making the total strength as 180. In 2014, the department also started a research centre for PhD. Degree under Pune University. In the year 2016, MKSSS’S Cummins College of Engineering for Women (CCOEW), Pune became Autonomous institute.  With the rising demand of Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning in industry worldwide, the department has started Post Graduate (M.Tech.) course in Artificial Intelligence with an intake of 18 students by replacing M. Tech in Signal Processing from the year 2020.
