Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune is run by Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). The Trust was established on the 16th of June 1975 under Bombay Trust Act of 1950.
The Trust undertakes educational, religious and social activities. “Vishwakarma” as per Indian mythology, is an architect-engineer of the Gods. The Trust has adopted this name with a vision to develop engineers who can take up challenges in technical field with original work and creativity.
Facilities @VIT Pune
- Internet Lab: Internet Facility is available for students and staff members. Wi-Fi facility is available within the campus.
- Library: The central library of Vishwakarma was established in 1984 and since then provides with physical and intellectual access to information. The library consists of Reference Section, Journal Section, Reading hall, and Stack-Room. The library has a unique collection of Encyclopedia, Handbooks, Textbooks, Journals, Video Cassettes, CD’S, Video Courses etc.
- Medical Facility: Doctor from Chintamani Hospital visits the campus daily and performs initial check-up of students and staff.
- Parking: Separate parking for students, staff, and four-wheelers is available.
- Auditorium: Fully Furnished AC Auditorium with a seating capacity of 700.
Campus
The college has about 2800 students, 225 faculty members, 67 laboratories, 1 central library and 150 administrative and supportive staff. Spread over an area of 7 acres (28,000 m2), the academic area consists of four major buildings. The campus has a canteen, a Nescafe coffee outlet, a fruit-juice(and breakfast) center and a bakery that remains open during the college hours, and a fully air-conditioned auditorium with ceiling fans The student’s hostel is off-campus The hostel is state of the art and is equipped with a mess facility for students. It is located about 3.5 km from the academic area.
VIT Pune institute does not conduct its own entrance exam. Admissions to B.Tech programmes at the institute is on the basis of the score acquired in MHCET or JEE Main – Paper 1. It is mandatory for all aspirants to register and secure merit numbers through the DTE procedure.
- 20% seat of sanctioned intake is available for VIT Pune Management Quota Direct Admission for ‘2023’ Session or Institute level seats.
Eligibility
- For admission to the B.Tech program, candidates must have passed the 10+2 level or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum required marks.
- Admission to the B.Tech course at VIT Pune is based on merit of JEE Main examination conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).
- Admission is also done through MHT-CET-2017 followed by a counseling based on the merit list.
If all criteria is fulfilled then student has to register on Maharashtra dte website and follow simple registration process known as ARC Verification. Followed by All documents verification.
