Eligibility Criteria for Btech Admission in VIT Vellore
Nationality:
- Applicants must be Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
- NRI and foreign applicants can apply through specific application forms.
- The minimum age limit is 18 years as of July 1st, 2002.
Qualifying Examination:
- Applicants must have completed or will be appearing in one of the following qualifying examinations:
- 10+2 system of higher secondary examination conducted by State Boards, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), or other recognized boards.
- Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized board/university.
- High School Certificate Examination ofthe Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- Regular NIOS board candidates are also eligible.
- Applicants who have completed their qualifying examination outside of India or from unrecognized boards must provide an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- For Indian nationals, attending VITEEE 2024 is mandatory for B.Tech. admission. In case of cancellation due to natural calamities, alternative qualifying criteria may be applied.
Minimum Aggregate Marks:
- Applicants must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology (PCM/PCB/PCMB) in the qualifying examination.
- SC/ST applicants and applicants from specific states can apply with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
VITEEE Requirement:
- PCMB/PCM applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2024 are eligible for all B.Tech programs.
- PCMB/PCB applicants who have attempted Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (BPCEA) in VITEEE 2024 and PCB applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2024 are eligible only for specific programs listed in the application materials.

About Vit Engineering Entrance Examination
Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in VIT group of Institutions. VITEEE will be conducted between 19 and 30 April 2024 (Tentative) at designated centres across India and abroad (No.of days will vary for test cities). The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates can appear only once for VITEEE. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and one mark for the right answer and zero for the wrong answer. There will be a total of 125 questions divided into the section Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper will be in English only. The fee towards application and subsequent counselling is non-refundable. The detailed syllabus is available at www.viteee.vit.ac.in. The method of Equi-percentile is adopted for the merit list preparation of VITEEE-Computer Based Examination.
