Department of Information Technology (IT) was established in the year 1999. The department offers an undergraduate program of B.Tech (Information Technology). The program has become autonomous since 2016. Students’ intake capacity for the program is 60 every year. Fifteen batches affiliated under Savitrbai Phule Pune University and two batches under autonomy have graduated from the department till date. The department has 3 class rooms and 9 laboratories. The class rooms and laboratories are well equipped with latest configuration desktops. Each desktop has internet facility available. Our students are placed in reputed companies such as Salesforce, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, IBM, Barclays, Pubmatic, General Electric, Cummins India, Deloitte, Seagate, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, KPIT and Persistent Systems. Some students pursue higher education at IITs, other engineering colleges and management colleges in India. Three students have pursued MS at Purdue University, USA through the MoU between the College and Purdue University. In addition to this, some students seek admission for MS in other universities abroad like UC Berkeley, Hult International Business School, Boston, Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Dublin, University of Melbourne, Australia.

The students have excelled in almost all areas by securing University ranks, paper-presentation awards, project competition awards as well as trophies in sports and cultural activities. Students have represented college in Badminton and Rope Mallakhamb at National Level. They have won trophies in cultural events like Purushottam Karandak and Firodiya. Students also bagged the NES Innovation Award for years 2020-21 and 2021-22. They are also winners of Murthy Award for Best Performance in Sports. As a result, department has fetched Best Class Award seven times and Best Department Award five times.

About The Department

Information about the Department:

The E&TC Department of MKSSS’S Cummins College of Engineering for Women (CCOEW), Pune was established in 1991. Initially, it started functioning with 60 students. The student intake was increased to 120 in 1997. The department has also started the Post Graduation course of M.E (Signal Processing) since 2009 with an intake of 18 students. Second shift of UG with an intake of 60 students was added in 2010 thus making the total strength as 180. In 2014, the department also started a research centre for PhD. Degree under Pune University. In the year 2016, MKSSS’S Cummins College of Engineering for Women (CCOEW), Pune became Autonomous institute. With the rising demand of Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning in industry worldwide, the department has started Post Graduate (M.Tech.) course in Artificial Intelligence with an intake of 18 students by replacing M. Tech in Signal Processing from the year 2020.

The department has well qualified and experienced faculty with very good teacher student ratio. The students of the department are also selected for undergoing Post Graduation Course of M.S. at Purdue University of the United States, since this college has an M.O.U with that University.
