Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) is a well renowned Engineering Institute in Bangalore (Karnataka). The College Sir MVIT is named after Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, a well-known Engineer, Statesman and a former Diwan of Mysore. Sir MVIT was founded and established in the year 1986 by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust (Sir KET).

Eligibility Criteria
For under-graduate course, students must secure at least 45% marks at their 10+2 levels. Students must have combination of the subjects Physics, Mathematics along with chemistry or biology or electronics or computer science or biotechnology. English should be one of the languages at their board examination.
Reservation for SC/ST and other backward classes shall be implied as per the state government rules and regulations.
Admissions
Admission through CET:
Government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test tentatively in the month of April every year. Karnataka domicile students can apply for this test and the allotment of the seats is done online. 45% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through CET. In addition to this, 5% of Super-numeracy quota (SNQ) seats are also made available for the meritorious- economically weaker students with the tuition fee waiver provision
Admission through COMED-K:
Consortium of the management of the private colleges of Karnataka conducts this test tentatively in the month of May every year. Both Karnataka & Non-Karnataka students can appear for this test. 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through COMED-K test.
Admission through Management Quota:
25% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through management quota. Provisional admission formality starts in the month of April every year.
