Central Level Entrance Exam (JEE)

Syllabus of the JEE Main Exam

The advanced level examination is divided into two parts: physics and mathematics. This is a prerequisite for admission to IITs.

Exam Pattern for JEE Mains

The exam pattern varies from year to year. The core framework, however, stays the same. The test consists of four papers (two objective type and two descriptive type). Each paper is 2 hours long.

 State Level Entrance Exam (MH- CET)

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay administers the MHT- Common Entrance Test (CET) (IITB). This test is carried out twice a year, in January and July.

CET is used to gain admission to various engineering programmes offered by IITs. Students who have completed their 12th-grade examination are eligible to take this exam.

The test will last 2 hours and 30 minutes. The test is divided into two sections: Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

 Management Quota

The government has decided that direct admission through management quotas will be permitted for engineering admissions beginning with the current academic session. This means that students who have completed their 12th grade can apply for admission to BTech/BE/BArch courses without taking an entrance exam.

The students can get direct admission through paying management fees to the college for the remaining seats from the counseling rounds.

To secure a seat at PICT college, the institute takes into account a candidate’s JEE-Main scores or MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) and the 12th-grade exam for undergraduate admission in Engineering.

 PICT Pune Scholarship 2024:

PICT Pune provides scholarship schemes for students under different categories as per the guidelines of the Maharashtra government. Some of the PICT Pune Scholarships are given below:

  • TFW scheme: The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme is run by the government of Maharashtra and is available for meritorious students from the state of Maharashtra having a family income below INR 6 LPA.
  • Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Scheme: This scheme is specially for students belonging to the EBC/EWS/SEBC categories. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is to be a domicile of Maharashtra with a family income limit of up to INR 8 lakhs per annum. Students selected for the scholarship will have over 50% of their tuition fee waived-off and will be given a maximum amount of INR 3000 p.m.
  • Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship: This scholarship is available to SC students having an annual family income of not more than INR 2.5 LPA. The selected students will be given 100% tuition fee concession
  • Scholarship for students of minority communities pursuing higher and professional courses (DTE): Students applying for this scholarship must belong to the minority community and their family income must be less than INR 8 LPA. Selected students will be awarded a maximum amount of INR 25,000 p.a.
  • Post Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability: PwD students having a disability of more than 40% are granted this scholarship where their full tuition fee is waived off.

Sports Special Category ·         Candidates should have won National level cup/medals in Super-A games or B-games during five years of basic education (8th to 12th standard) in Karnataka.
Scouts and Guide Special Category ·         Candidates who have received ‘President’s Award’ as ‘Scouts/Guides’ during five years of education from Class 8 to 12 in Karnataka will be eligible.

·         Such Candidates falling will be required to show the “President’s Award” certificate at the time document verification with other certificates.
OBC/SC/ST under Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B ·         Candidates will have to produce a caste certificate/caste income certificate issued by concerned Jurisdictional Tahsildar in accordance with Government Regulations.

·         The candidates will also need to hold Form ‘D’ in case of ST and ST, Form ‘E’ in case of Category-I, Form ‘F’ in case of OBC like 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B.
Physically Disabled Category ·         For this category, the candidates will have to provide a medical/disability certificate.

·         Candidates having at least 40% physical disability will be considered under this category of KCET reservation 2024.
Kannada Medium Candidates should have studied in Kannada Medium from Class 1 to 10 standard.
Anglo-Indian Special Category Candidates will have to produce a certificate issued by the Registered Association of Anglo Indian Community of Karnataka and countersigned by an Anglo Indian MLA appointed by the Government of India at the time of document verification.
