This institution offers around twenty undergraduate, thirty-four postgraduate, four integrated & four research programs in various domains. The university has campuses in Chennai & Vellore in Tamil Nadu, India. A 200-acre new campus located at Amaravati is under construction and very soon classes will be started here.

Academics

VIT offers academic programs in Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences, and Management. It offers 20 undergraduate programs, 34 postgraduate, four integrated MS courses, and four doctoral programs. Btech Eligibility Criteria at VIT Vellore Direct Admission

 English as one of the subjects in the qualifying Examination.

 For admission to B.Tech courses, candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to the 10+2 system of Indian Education) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as compulsory subjects

 A pass with Minimum aggregate of 60% or equivalent Grade in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or Biology or Biotechnology (PCB) in standard XII or Equivalent Degree

 Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2002 are eligible to apply.

 In case if they have studied Physical science with a combination of Physics and Chemistry as subjects in the qualifying examination, they should produce the certificate of approval from the school to that effect and also proper approval from AIU / Board of Studies.

 High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. (Physics & Mathematics – HL, Chemistry – SL)

 General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

Applicants who had studied (advanced level in) Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in class 12 or equivalent are eligible for all the B.Tech programmes.

About VITEEE Entrance at VIT Vellore Btech Direct Admission

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in VIT group of Institutions. VITEEE will be conducted between 19 and 30 April 2024 (Tentatively) at designated centres across India and abroad (No.of days will vary for test cities). The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates can appear only once for VITEEE-2024. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and one mark for the right answer and zero for the wrong answer. Those who score ‘0’ in total will be declared as ‘Not qualified’ and will not be eligible to participate in the counselling process. There will be a total of 125 questions divided into the section Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper will be in English only. The fee towards application and subsequent counselling is non-refundable. The method of Equi-percentile is adopted for the merit list preparation of VITEEE-Computer Based Examination.
