 What is Comedk?

COMEDK UGET is the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka under Graduate Entrance Test for various engineering and architecture college admissions.

COMEDK, since its inception in 2004-05, has conducted the annual entrance exam for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the member institutions and has also organised single-window centralised counselling procedures over the past fifteen years.

This is a state level exam conducted by the Consortium of Engineering, medical and the dental college of Karnataka; earlier in 2015 this entrance exam was held only in Karnataka. But now this exam is conducted in various other cities like Ambala, New Delhi, Faridabad, Meerut, Rajkot, Hisar Karnal and many more. This entrance exam is conducted for the admission to undergraduate engineering courses at almost 190 colleges in Karnataka state. As per the COMEDK exam pattern issued there will be 1 mark given for each correct answer with no negative marking. This exam is conducted once a year.

 Inter-se Merit for COMEDK UGET 2023 cutoff

In case of a tie in COMEDK cutoff 2023, where two or more candidates obtain the same ranks, the process of Inter-se will be followed in order to determine the ranks of such candidates. The process of determining Inter-se merit is explained below:

  • In case of a tie, candidates with the least number of incorrect answers in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie still remains, candidates having more aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics will be given preference.
  • If the tie still persists, candidates with more marks in the Mathematics section will be given preference.
  • If the tie remains unbroken, the elder candidate will be given over the other.

In cases where two or more candidates obtain the same ranks, the process of Inter-se will be followed in order to determine the COMEDK UGET ranks of such candidates. The Inter-se rank is determined by following the below-mentioned steps:

A candidate with the least number of incorrect answers in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections will be given a higher rank in case of a tie.

If the tie still remains, the candidate with more aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics will be given preference.

If the situation of a tie still persists, candidates with more marks in Mathematics will be given preference.

After following all the above-mentioned rules the tie remains unbroken, the elder candidate will be given admission.

Management Quota Seat

As per Government of Karnataka norms and the admission matrix is announced by them. Out of the total seat 45% of seats are filled by KCET, 30% of seats get filled through COMED-K UGET and remaining 25% of seats are filled by Management Quota. RVCE offers Management Quota Admission which is considered as a lifeline for the students who are failed to make it through Common Entrance Test (CET) or COMED-K. By Management Quota they would get the same college and even in the same branch. Fees Structure for Direct Admission in Management Quota will be higher from COMED-K and KCET.

About COMEDK?

This is a state level exam conducted by the Consortium of Engineering, medical and the dental college of Karnataka; earlier in 2015 this entrance exam was held only in Karnataka. But now this exam is conducted in various other cities like Ambala, New Delhi, Faridabad, Meerut, Rajkot, Hisar Karnal and many more. This entrance exam is conducted for the admission to undergraduate engineering courses at almost 190 colleges in Karnataka state. As per the COMEDK exam pattern issued there will be 1 mark given for each correct answer with no negative marking. This exam is conducted once a year. This exam is held for both the candidate’s seeking admission in B. Tech course and B. Arch course.

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organizing a common entrance test for the academic year 2023. COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counselling.

General Instructions for Registration- COMEDK:

COMEDK – Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental College of Karnataka or, COMEDK, is an autonomous institution that conducts state-level entrance exams called COMEDK UGET for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in Karnataka. The institution mainly consists of senior academicians and reputed administrative officers who organise the exam to choose aspiring candidates in a fair and transparent manner.

Talking about the COMEDK UGET, the exam provides admissions to eligible candidates for various UG engineering programmes. For the academic year 2023-24, COMEDK will conduct an online examination all over India on Sunday, 28 May 2023, across 400 centres for engineering programmes which offer around 20,000 seats and will be followed by online counselling. The exam is open to all candidates who are a citizen of India.
